Caring staff give individuals the care and attention, dignity and respect they need while ensuring that personalized care and support is provided that meets the individual's wishes.
We ensure that our care and support workers are carefully selected, trained, supervised and supported in the provision of high-quality care and support in a person-centred manner.
We operate a robust recruitment procedure to ensure that all staff undergo the necessary employment checks, including the right to work, face to face interviews with emphasis on caring attributes rather than qualification, Enhanced DBS check, and satisfactory employment and character references. All employees undertake our organization induction training and shadowing prior to commencing their duties. Because staff are recruited locally, the knowledge of the local area and culture are retained in the staff team.
At the commencement of service, we offer each customer the opportunity to choose their preferred care staff following which we then provide them with a dedicated team of care staff to ensure continuity and smooth delivery of their service.
The carers go the extra mile to give care; since my husband came home from respite he has been very low, sleepy and uncommunicative. When he said yesterday he wanted to come downstairs, they cheered him! My husband is very good at recovering from incidents such as the one he suffered in A&E a couple of weeks ago but, honestly, I don't think he would have revived nearly as well this time if he hadn't had such encouragement and love from your staff who care for him.
Every time the District Nurses visit they are complimentary about the way in which he is cared for; the way his very thin skin is beautifully cared for is always commented upon, as is his general state of cleanliness and his positive interactions with his carers.
They are all patient, caring, kind, understanding and professional. They make what is essentially a very difficult time so much easier to cope with.
